Greece: Food Tour

I found out recently about food tours you can do in Greece. You can sign up for this and walk down a street in Athens and try various Greek cuisines. I would love to do this because I have never really tried Greek food. I am a pretty picky eater, so I don't know if I would necessarily like the food, but I think it would be fun to try it at least.

Greece: Parthenon

The Parthenon is a landmark in Greece that I would love to see sometime. It was built in 438 BC and was dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena. The Parthenon has many unique statues and other forms of art within it and I think seeing it in person would be great. It is part of Classical Greece, which I would love to see all of some day.

Greece: Walking the Streets

One thing I have always wanted to do was walk the streets of Greece. In the movies and pictures I have seen that show Greece, the towns always seem so neat. They aren't like a regular town, they are usually up on a hill overlooking a beautiful sea. Even the look of the buildings are unique to Greece. I would love to be able to just go walk around a city in Greece like this without anything specific to get done all day. That way I could shop or eat or whatever I found on the streets that looked interesting to do.

Greece: Hotel

This weeks trip is to Greece! I know it's not really a thing to do or a place to see, but I know where I would stay if I went to Greece! It is called the Katikies Hotel. This hotel has a wonderful view and from the pictures it looks gorgeous. It is located in Oia Village on top of the Caldera cliffs. It overlooks the Aegean Sea. Oia is famous for its sunsets and picture perfect moments. I love photography so I would love to stay here and bring my camera. I would be able to take some amazing pictures here!

Germany: Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall was created to keep the East and West sides of Germany separate. This was put in place during Nazi times and it had guard towers to make sure no one could cross. This wall has areas with graffiti and other forms of art on one side. I think it would be very neat to see the wall and see what the Germans had to put up with during the Nazi times.

Germany: Holocaust Memorial

I don't think I could go to Germany without visiting the Holocaust Memorial. It would be very emotional and hard to see, but I think it is something everyone should see if they get the chance. My history class is talking about the Holocaust right now, and it is just tragic. That is what inspired me to go to Germany this week.

Germany: Castles

One thing I would love to do while in Germany is visit castles. My aunt and uncle just went to Germany and took a tour around a castle and it was magnificent. I have never seen a castle in my own life, but I have always dreamed of going to one. The Neuschwanstein Castle is one in particular that I would visit. King Ludwig II built this castle as a place to get away from the public, but when he died it turned into the most visited castle in Europe.

Germany: Miniatur Wunderland

This week I would like to go to Germany. I am part German and everything about the German culture has always interested me. I found out recently about the Miniatur Wunderland. This is a model of many different cities, representing what their normal life is like. This video shows more about what it is like, but I think it would be interesting to see because all the parts move, vehicles drive, and it is very life like. I have a feeling that if I go there, I would easily be entertained for hours. This would be a great way to see the interpretations of cultures and see more about what life is like in different areas of the world.

New York: Helicopter Tour

I have been on a helicopter once in my life. My dad and I went up in one a long time ago. I don't remember a whole lot about it, but I do remember that it was very fun. I have been in airplanes, both commercial and personal many times. There is just something about going that high up in sky that amazes me. I would love to take a helicopter tour around New York because there are so many great things to see in New York, I think that would be one place that you would never get bored looking down at.

New York: Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty was given to the United States from France. It is a symbol of international friendship. I love the idea of that. I have seen the Statue of Liberty when I went to New York a few years back, but I never had the chance to get up close to it. I would love to go on Ellis Island and spend some time actually enjoying the Statue of Liberty.

New York: Empire State Building

I have been to the Empire State Building one time, but I would love to go again. It was such an amazing experience. I could see for miles, it felt like I was on top of the world! The Empire State Building was really interesting. I just figured you would hop on an elevator and go up to the top and look out. But it was actually a much longer process than that. There were multiple elevators to go up and different waiting areas and everything. You can go up to the 86th floor and look straight down. This was so fun because everything looked tiny from up there. It was a whole new experience.

New York: Time Square

I would love to go to New York again. I went a few years back with my high school marching band, but since it was a big group of people, I didn't get a chance to do everything I would like to do in New York. We took a bus tour through Time Square, but we didn't get to stop and get out or walk around at all. I would love to go back to Time Square and go into the buildings and take my time, actually enjoying the area.

Australia: Wild Life

I have been to many zoos. The most recent zoo I have been to is the San Diego zoo. While I was there I saw every kind of animal I could think of. Kangaroos and Koalas were there. It was really cool to be able to see them up close, but they were just laying in the sun sleeping. I really want to go to Australia so I can see live Kangaroos and Koalas in their own environment. If I ever get the chance, even though I know I probably never will, I would love to recreate this very picture. I think it is absolutely beautiful.

Australia: Ayers Rock

Ayers Rock is a beautiful sandstone rock in Australia. It is located right in the middle of Australia. This rock is also known as Uluru. Even though it is probably not near a lot of towns or other sight seeing opportunities, I would love to see this. It is an amazing rock, basically in the middle of no where. This is a sacred landform to the aboriginal people of Australia, so it would be a great time to learn about a new culture at the same time!
