Mexico: Cancun

I would love to visit Cancun next time I am in Mexico. I have been there once and I could see Cancun from where I was staying, but I never actually had a chance to go visit it. It is such a big tourist place that I feel the need to see what it is all about. I wouldn't go there for a long time, but I would love to just visit for maybe a day and have fun. The Cancun Palace would be a place I would stay if I went there, the view from the rooms is beautiful!

Mexico: Stingray Beach

Stingray beach is an area in Mexico that has a lot of stingrays swimming around and you can go in the water with them. You are allowed to feed them, and from what I have heard, the stingrays follow you around like dogs if you have food. I think this is a great idea, and would be very fun because I have always loved petting stingrays at the petting part of zoos or aquariums. Getting the chance to actually swim with stingrays would be scary, but such a great experience. Photos of Stingray Beach, Cozumel

London: Tour

The last thing I would like to do if I ever get a chance to go to London would be to take a tour on an open top bus. There are many different options for this, but one that I found out about has 80 different stops along the tour. Taking a tour like this would be great because I would get to see so much in a small amount of time. I would want to take a tour like this at the beginning of the trip, though, so then if I saw something on the tour that I wanted to see more of, I would still have time to go back later in the trip.

London: London Eye

The London Eye is the tallest ferris wheel in Europe. It is 443 feet tall. It is also the most visited, paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom. I love ferris wheels because they are relaxing and fun. When I get up to the top I love being able to see off into the distance. Being on a ferris wheel that is this giant would be amazing because I could probably see for miles. I hope to be able to one day go on this ferris wheel.

London: Buckingham Palace

I would love to see the Buckingham Palace. Even though it is one of the biggest tourist attractions in London, it is also still currently where the queen lives. You can tell if the queen is home by whether the flag is flying or not. I know I probably wouldn't get to see the queen while I was there, but I think it would be a really unique experience to see the palace where she lives. I would also really like to see the changing of the guards there. I am amazed by how still they stand, I don't think I could ever stand that still for so long, especially with people walking by and looking at me. The guards do a big show, just to change who is on duty. I think that would be very cool to see, because I have heard so much about it.

London: Big Ben

Big Ben, as most of you know, is the big clock located at the Palace of Westminster. I have been hearing people talk about it and have seen pictures of it pretty much my whole life. If I were to go to London, Big Ben would be one of the first things I would see there. When I think of London, I think of Big Ben, so that would be amazing to see in person.

Paris: Bateaux Mouches

The Bateaux Mouches is a cruise boat tour you can take around Paris. They have restaurants on board, so you can eat dinner or lunch while you take this tour. This would be a fun way to see a whole lot of Paris and many different monuments. It would also be a great way to learn about the monuments, because they have tour guides on the boat that explain the significance of each area the boat passes. There are 9 different Bateaux Mouches boats available for tours around Paris.

Paris: Disney

I have been to both Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida multiple times. Every time I have gone to either of them, I have had the time of my life. Even as an adult, Disney never gets old. There is a Disney in Paris now, too. It is called EuroDisney. I would love to go to EuroDisney to see what differences there are, and to enjoy even more Disney fun!

Paris: Moulin Rouge

The Moulin Rouge is a Cabaret in Paris. It was built in 1889, just like the Eiffel Tower and is mostly known for the creation of the can-can dance. The Moulin Rouge is a big tourist attraction and I would love to someday see a show there. There are many movies based off this Cabaret, including the movie entitled Moulin Rouge. It would be really great to see where the inspiration for that movie came from, because it is a really good movie.

Paris: Eiffel Tower

As most of you can guess, if I went to Paris the first place I would want to go would be the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is what is Paris is known for. It was built in 1889 as the entrance to the 1889's World's Fair. My friends in choir went to Paris a couple years ago and they had a blast. I would love to see the Eiffel Tower in person one day.

Norway: Atlantic Ocean Road

The Atlantic Ocean Road is called the Atlanterhavsveien in Norwegian. This road connects the island Averoya to the Romsdal Peninsula. Averoya is a small island with four Norwegian villages located on it. When I go to Norway I hope I get the chance to drive across this road because it is so unique and it would be fun to do so. I also would like to spend time on the Averoya island because I love seeing small villages in different places to see what they are like.

Norway: Aurora Borealis

Seeing Aurora Borealis is on my top list of things to do in life. When I was younger, I saw the Northern Lights slightly from my backyard, but it was really hard to see and just a little bit. I would love to go to Norway, or maybe Alaska, and see these lights up close. There is a reason they are one of the Wonders of the World. Every time I see a picture of the Northern Lights I am just in awe, and I know that if I see them in person it would be even more amazing.

Norway: Kjeragbolten

Kjeragbolten is a giant boulder that is wedged between two cliffs in Norway. People go there to visit and stand on the actual boulder. This looks very scary and thrilling and even though I would be nervous to do so, I think it would be great to go stand on this boulder. These cliffs overlook a fjord called Lysefjorden. There is a beautiful view from this rock and from the cliffs that hold the boulder in the air.

Norway: Hovedoya

This week I will be traveling to Norway. I am Norwegian and I have always wanted to visit the countries I am from. I will start with Hovedoya. This is an island near Oslo, Norway. There are two boats that you can take across to the island. There is so much to do on this island: visit the ruins of the medieval monastery, see the old wooden cannons that were used as defense on Hovedoya, or just have a picnic on an island. If I get the chance to go here, I would do all three of these things.

Las Vegas: MGM Grand

Another hotel/casino I would go to while in Las Vegas is the MGM Grand. My parents stayed there when they went to Las Vegas when I was a kid. They brought back souvenirs for me and my brother from the MGM Grand Hotel and I would love to actually go see where those souvenirs came from. I have heard a lot about the shows you can see in Las Vegas, and I would go see at least a couple shows while there. MGM Grand is one of the many places you can go in Las Vegas to see a show.

Las Vegas: Bellagio

The Bellagio is another hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Right outside this hotel, there is a water show in the Fountains of Bellagio. They put the fountain's movements to music and lights. I went to a water show last winter when I was at Disneyland and it was amazing. Seeing water shows like this is mesmerizing. While in Las Vegas I would love to see this water show I have heard so much about at the Bellagio.

Las Vegas: Underwater Slide

I recently found a picture of an underwater slide in Las Vegas. It goes through a shark tank when it is under water. I love stuff like this, so when I go to Las Vegas I want to try this slide out. Water parks are one of my favorite things to do during the summer and this would be especially exciting, sliding through a shark tank.

Las Vegas: Cosmopolitan

This week: Las Vegas. I wouldn't go to Las Vegas yet, I would wait until I am at least 21 so I am able to go into the casinos and gamble and get the whole experience. But one place I already know that I want to go to is the Cosmopolitan. My sister-in-law went there a short time back and told me how much I would love it. There is what is called the Chandelier Bar there that would be wonderful to go to. I am not a big gambler, nor do I drink but I would love to go there for the atmosphere and to see what it is really like.

Greece: Food Tour

I found out recently about food tours you can do in Greece. You can sign up for this and walk down a street in Athens and try various Greek cuisines. I would love to do this because I have never really tried Greek food. I am a pretty picky eater, so I don't know if I would necessarily like the food, but I think it would be fun to try it at least.

Greece: Parthenon

The Parthenon is a landmark in Greece that I would love to see sometime. It was built in 438 BC and was dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena. The Parthenon has many unique statues and other forms of art within it and I think seeing it in person would be great. It is part of Classical Greece, which I would love to see all of some day.

Greece: Walking the Streets

One thing I have always wanted to do was walk the streets of Greece. In the movies and pictures I have seen that show Greece, the towns always seem so neat. They aren't like a regular town, they are usually up on a hill overlooking a beautiful sea. Even the look of the buildings are unique to Greece. I would love to be able to just go walk around a city in Greece like this without anything specific to get done all day. That way I could shop or eat or whatever I found on the streets that looked interesting to do.

Greece: Hotel

This weeks trip is to Greece! I know it's not really a thing to do or a place to see, but I know where I would stay if I went to Greece! It is called the Katikies Hotel. This hotel has a wonderful view and from the pictures it looks gorgeous. It is located in Oia Village on top of the Caldera cliffs. It overlooks the Aegean Sea. Oia is famous for its sunsets and picture perfect moments. I love photography so I would love to stay here and bring my camera. I would be able to take some amazing pictures here!

Germany: Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall was created to keep the East and West sides of Germany separate. This was put in place during Nazi times and it had guard towers to make sure no one could cross. This wall has areas with graffiti and other forms of art on one side. I think it would be very neat to see the wall and see what the Germans had to put up with during the Nazi times.

Germany: Holocaust Memorial

I don't think I could go to Germany without visiting the Holocaust Memorial. It would be very emotional and hard to see, but I think it is something everyone should see if they get the chance. My history class is talking about the Holocaust right now, and it is just tragic. That is what inspired me to go to Germany this week.

Germany: Castles

One thing I would love to do while in Germany is visit castles. My aunt and uncle just went to Germany and took a tour around a castle and it was magnificent. I have never seen a castle in my own life, but I have always dreamed of going to one. The Neuschwanstein Castle is one in particular that I would visit. King Ludwig II built this castle as a place to get away from the public, but when he died it turned into the most visited castle in Europe.

Germany: Miniatur Wunderland

This week I would like to go to Germany. I am part German and everything about the German culture has always interested me. I found out recently about the Miniatur Wunderland. This is a model of many different cities, representing what their normal life is like. This video shows more about what it is like, but I think it would be interesting to see because all the parts move, vehicles drive, and it is very life like. I have a feeling that if I go there, I would easily be entertained for hours. This would be a great way to see the interpretations of cultures and see more about what life is like in different areas of the world.

New York: Helicopter Tour

I have been on a helicopter once in my life. My dad and I went up in one a long time ago. I don't remember a whole lot about it, but I do remember that it was very fun. I have been in airplanes, both commercial and personal many times. There is just something about going that high up in sky that amazes me. I would love to take a helicopter tour around New York because there are so many great things to see in New York, I think that would be one place that you would never get bored looking down at.

New York: Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty was given to the United States from France. It is a symbol of international friendship. I love the idea of that. I have seen the Statue of Liberty when I went to New York a few years back, but I never had the chance to get up close to it. I would love to go on Ellis Island and spend some time actually enjoying the Statue of Liberty.

New York: Empire State Building

I have been to the Empire State Building one time, but I would love to go again. It was such an amazing experience. I could see for miles, it felt like I was on top of the world! The Empire State Building was really interesting. I just figured you would hop on an elevator and go up to the top and look out. But it was actually a much longer process than that. There were multiple elevators to go up and different waiting areas and everything. You can go up to the 86th floor and look straight down. This was so fun because everything looked tiny from up there. It was a whole new experience.

New York: Time Square

I would love to go to New York again. I went a few years back with my high school marching band, but since it was a big group of people, I didn't get a chance to do everything I would like to do in New York. We took a bus tour through Time Square, but we didn't get to stop and get out or walk around at all. I would love to go back to Time Square and go into the buildings and take my time, actually enjoying the area.

Australia: Wild Life

I have been to many zoos. The most recent zoo I have been to is the San Diego zoo. While I was there I saw every kind of animal I could think of. Kangaroos and Koalas were there. It was really cool to be able to see them up close, but they were just laying in the sun sleeping. I really want to go to Australia so I can see live Kangaroos and Koalas in their own environment. If I ever get the chance, even though I know I probably never will, I would love to recreate this very picture. I think it is absolutely beautiful.

Australia: Ayers Rock

Ayers Rock is a beautiful sandstone rock in Australia. It is located right in the middle of Australia. This rock is also known as Uluru. Even though it is probably not near a lot of towns or other sight seeing opportunities, I would love to see this. It is an amazing rock, basically in the middle of no where. This is a sacred landform to the aboriginal people of Australia, so it would be a great time to learn about a new culture at the same time!

Australia: Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is another location that makes Australia famous. I would love to go scuba diving or snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef. I have gone snorkeling in Florida, down in Key West and that was so much fun. I love seeing all the colorful fish and watching them swim around. Snorkeling is very relaxing and a great way to spend time, and I would love to see the fish in the Great Barrier Reef.

Australia: Opera House

Australia is my number one place to go to in the world. The first place I think of when I think of Australia is the Sydney Opera House, as do many. It is a performing art center that was built in 1973. Even if I didn't make it to a show in there, I would love to at least go there and see it. The Sydney Opera House is the focal point of Australia, and it would be a dream come true to go there.

Yellowstone: Wild Life

Along with all the wonders of nature in Yellowstone, another wonder I would love to see is the wild life. I really love animals, so I will probably mention the wild life in a lot of the places I mention in this blog. Animals really interest me, especially when I get the chance to see them in the wild. In the Yellowstone area, the animals I might see would consist of bison and bears, along with other animals. I have never seen a bison, except for in the zoo, so it would be a wonderful thing to see in the wild. As long as I'm far enough away that I am safe, of course!

Yellowstone: Hot Springs

The Hot Springs in Yellowstone are amazing. Even just looking at the pictures I am in awe. They are so interesting. I have learned about them in the past and the way they work is really cool. When the water inside them heats up, it rises to the top (just like heat rises in the air) and the air when it reaches the top cools it down. When the water on top is cooled down, it sinks back down to the bottom and is replaced with more hot water. This amazes me how things like this can happen in nature.

Yellowstone: Mountains

Not that Yellowstone is the only place you can see mountains, but it seems like just as good of a place as any for this! I would love to see the mountains. I have seen various mountains from a distance, but never up close and personal. I would love to stand at the base of mountains or even climb up a mountain. Climbing a mountain would be a very difficult task, but I believe if I set my mind to it, I could accomplish it!

Yellowstone: Old Faithful

This week I chose Yellowstone National Park. Old Faithful would be the first thing I would want to see while I am there. My friend went to see Old Faithful last summer and she said it was truly amazing. She had pictures she showed me and I think it is just wonderful. I am curious as to how a little hole in the ground like this can produce such a huge explosion of gases like it does.

Rome: Spanish Steps

The Spanish steps (or the Scalinata della Trinità dei Monti in Italian) are the steps leading up to the Trinità dei Monti Church. This staircase is the widest staircase in Europe. This is maybe a lesser known monument in Rome, but I would love to go see it. If I ever get the chance to go climb the Spanish Steps I would do it. It might take a little bit of work, seeing as how there are 138 steps total, but it would be worth it in the end because the view would be beautiful.

Rome: The Vatican

The Vatican would be a wonderful place to go while in Rome. So many people talk about the Pope and the Vatican, I would love to go there. Pictures I have seen look so pretty. It has been such a big influence in our world. Even though I am not Catholic, I think it would be inspiring to go see the Pope make a speech at the Vatican.

Rome: Trevi Fountain

There are so many great places to go in Rome, it is hard to choose. But for today I chose the Trevi Fountain. It is in all the movies and it just looks beautiful. I want to go to the Trevi Fountain so I can do the stereotypical turn around, make a wish, and throw a coin in the fountain. Who doesn't want their dreams to come true, right?

Rome: Colosseum

This week I chose to explore Rome. The first place I would go is the Colosseum. The colosseum was built about 2000 years ago. It is part of the "Ancient Rome" and is a huge part of Rome's history. My brother got the chance to go see the Colosseum two years ago and I am jealous. When thinking of the landmarks I want to see in the entire world, the Colosseum would be close to the top of my list. It was the host to many gladiator fights and reenactments of battles. I am no history buff, but this would be one piece of history I would love to hear more about.

Hawaii: Animal Life

I love animals. Going to the zoo is one of my favorite things to do. However, nothing is better than seeing animals in their homes in the wild. When I travel places I always hope to see animals along the way. Like when I went to Mexico, me and my family saw an iguana, a monkey, and other things in the wild. That was really interesting. If I ever get the chance to go to Hawaii, I would love to see the sea animals around there, especially a sea turtle. I love turtles, but seeing them in the zoo is just not the same. I would love to go snorkeling and see fish and turtles and whatever else is living in the sea around Hawaii!

Hawaii: Surfing!

Surfing has always been something I have seen on tv and have been jealous of. Learning how to surf would be fantastic, and what better place to learn than Hawaii? One of my old pastors at church moved to California a few years ago and has become a surfer. He comes back to our church every once in awhile and tells us about how great surfing is. Ever since he has come back, I have always wondered what it would be like to surf. I'm not sure that I would be very successful at it...but I would love to one day give it a try!

Hawaii: Lava

I would love to go see the lava in Hawaii. The Hawaiian islands, as many of you already know, are all volcanoes. I have seen so many cool pictures of the volcanoes erupting and lava flowing over rocks. It looks magnificent. I know that you can't really just pick when to go see lava, but if the timing is right, it would be wonderful.

Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! In this blog I will have a theme location every week and every post will be something I would like to do at that location!
